چکیده

In clinical practice, the mechanical ventilation is a very important aided method to improve patients' breath, so parameter setting of ventilator directly affects pulmonary gas exchange. In this report, we try to build a decision support system based on the gas exchange model for mechanical ventilation using fuzzy logic. The gas exchange mathematic model can simulate individual patient's pulmonary gas exchange, and can help doctors to learn patient's exactly situation. The system uses fuzzy logic algorithm, utilizing the measurement of patient, and generates the ventilator settings respond to individual patient. The system was retrospectively evaluated in 10 intensive care patient cases, with mathematic models fitted to the retrospective data, and then used to simulate patient response to changes in therapy. Compared to the ventilator settings set as part of routine clinical care, the system lowers inspired oxygen fraction and breath work and improves gas exchange with the model simulated outcome.

Modeling and development of a decision support system for supplier selection in the process industry

This paper presents the development of a model based decision support system with a case study on solving the supplier selection problem in a chemical processing industry. For the evaluation and selection of supplier, the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) and grey relational analysis (GRA) were used. The intention of the study is to propose an appropriate platform for process industries in ...

Goal-Directed Therapy for General ICU Patients Using Aggregated Multi-Objective Optimisation

SOPAVent (Simulation of Patients under Artificial Ventilation) is a blood gas model able to simulate patient ventilatory parameters subject to mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit (ICU). In this paper, the SOPAVent model is further developed into a continuously updated model of patient ventilatory condition. The extended version of the model is used as the core component for a goal...

Weaning from mechanical ventilation

INTRODUCTION This article reviews the literature on the weaning process in relation to nursing care. Weaning is defined as the process of gradually reducing mechanical ventilatory support as the patient’s own respiratory system recovers from disease (Keen, 2000). This process has been identified as one of the highest-ranked research priorities in nursing care by the American Association of Crit...

A Model-Driven Decision Support System for Software Cost Estimation (Case Study: Projects in NASA60 Dataset)

Estimating the costs of software development is one of the most important activities in software project management. Inaccuracies in such estimates may cause irreparable loss. A low estimate of the cost of projects will result in failure on delivery on time and indicates the inefficiency of the software development team. On the other hand, high estimates of resources and costs for a project wil...

Comparison of the effect of pressure support ventilation and volume assured pressure support ventilation on weaning patients off mechanical ventilation after cardiac surgery

Background: Weaning from mechanical ventilation in the intensive care unit is an important step in the treatment process. More patients in less than 6 hours after cardiac surgery can be separated from mechanical ventilation and extubated. However, 20-40% of patients after cardiac surgery, due to dysfunctional ventilator weaning response (DVWR), still remain under mechanical ventilation. Therefo...
